Wilbur Holden, the owner and president of Holden Building Company, Inc. has been a licensed general contractor since 1998 and business owner since 2001. In 2009, Wilbur started Holden Building Company as a sole venture with established foundations and pillars from previous endeavors. He is joined by Dan Holden, Tim Hight, and an excellent qualified staff of field personnel to take on all types of construction projects in the Carolinas, Virginia and beyond.
Our home office is in Greensboro, NC and with a branch office located in Charlotte, NC. Holden Building Company is currently licensed to build in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and have gone so far as Kentucky and Indiana for our customers. Wilbur received a BS degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. After graduating and working in the Northeast for several years he relocated to High Point, N.C. and began his commercial building career in 1995 with R.K. Stewart & Son in High Point, NC, where he worked as Estimator and Project Manager for three years. He then worked in a Project Manager position with John S. Clark Co. in Greensboro, N.C. where we worked until starting Morlando-Holden Construction.
Wilbur was the President and co-owner of Morlando-Holden Construction. Started in 2001, Morlando-Holden Construction completed hundreds of projects and grew to annual sales of over $20 million. Wilbur was responsible for the corporate operations for the business along with project management for select projects.
In 2009, Wilbur opened Holden Building Company, Inc. Strategically maintaining a presence in the Piedmont Triad and Charlotte/Mecklenburg County areas has helped Holden Building Company survive the tough construction market over the past several years. In addition to managing the business Wilbur enjoys being an integral part of projects built by Holden Building Company, Inc. and stays very involved in all our projects.
- Daniel Holden, Vice President
Dan received a BS degree from University of Maryland at College Park. After graduating and working in the Washington D.C, he decided to relocate to Charlotte, N.C. where he started out in sales for residential builders before moving into the commercial building industry as an assistant project manager with American Eastern Builders in 2001.
Dan came on board with Morlando-Holden Construction in 2002 as a laborer and worked his way up into a superintendent position. By 2004, Dan moved from the field and started his career as a project manager. Dan has appreciated his works thru the ranks and credits a lot of his knowledge to the superintendents he worked with for years.
In 2009, Dan helped Wilbur Holden start Holden Building Company, Inc. by providing a presence in the Charlotte/Mecklenburg market. Since that time Dan has successfully completed tens of projects and has helped build valued relationships with owners and architects. In addition to working for Holden Building Company, Dan enjoys his wife and 4 daughters, swimming and Maryland athletics.
- Timothy H. Hight, Project Manager
Tim began his construction career with Landmark Builders of Winston-Salem, in April 1986, as a carpenter’s helper performing duties such as construction clean-up, rebar placement, and assisting carpenters with their duties. After approximately four months, he began performing other duties, including concrete forming, structural steel erection, metal walls and metal roof installation. In 1987, Tim was promoted to superintendent. As a superintendent, he worked on renovation projects and new building projects. After completion of a multi building project, Tim was promoted to project manager. In October of 1988, Landmark decided to organize an upfit division and promoted Tim to division manager. As the Upfit Division Manager, he was responsible for management of personnel working within the upfit division, estimating, sales and project management.
Tim joined A. Watts, Inc. in April 1992 and was responsible for organizing and managing the interior renovations and upfits. In 1995, he began working with larger multi-million dollar projects requiring the management of all phases of the construction process. Tim was promoted to Senior Project Manager in 1997 and to Vice President in 2000, responsible for the operations, sales, marketing and production of the upfit and renovation division of A. Watts, Inc. and the responsibility of managing the Greensboro office.
In 2000 Tim started Crest Construction Services, Inc. and grew the company to over 35 employees and over $15 million in annual revenues. Due to the economic downturn Crest Construction Services was forced to close in February 2012. Tim joined Holden Building Company in March 2012 as a project manager.
